Training program: workplace compliance under the posh act, 2013
An institutional training program addressing workplace safety and legal compliance was successfully organized at the KIRTADS campus. The session focused specifically on evaluating institutional compliance parameters under the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (PoSH) framework, titled “How to Ensure our Organisation is PoSH Compliant or not? PoSH Act 2013: All you need to Know”.
The primary objective of the session was to sensitize institutional members, administrative staff, and personnel regarding their rights, responsibilities, and the legal mandates established by the PoSH Act of 2013. The program was structured to provide clear indicators for auditing and maintaining a legally compliant, secure, and respectful working environment.
The session was led by Adv. Bindu A., who served as the resource person and key speaker for the event.
During her presentation, Adv. Bindu A. covered vital statutory requirements, including:
• The mandatory constitution and role of the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC).
• Legal definitions and boundaries established under the Posh Act 2013.
• Step-by-step compliance mechanisms and annual reporting protocols required for public and state institutions.
• Preventive strategies to address and mitigate vulnerabilities within organizational spaces.
Following the main lecture, a question-and-answer session allowed participants to clarify operational doubts regarding complaint registration workflows, the confidentiality rights of parties involved, and the precise legal timeline for internal inquiries.
The program concluded successfully, providing the KIRTADS administrative framework with concrete guidelines to cross-verify its current compliance standing and reinforcing the organization’s commitment to maintaining a safe, zero-tolerance workspace against harassment.
