Development Studies

This wing conducts various evaluation studies of the programs implemented for the development of Scheduled castes and Scheduled Tribes. The Tribal Sub plan, Special component plans and other development schemes are studied critically for analyzing the feasibility of such programmes and reports are submitted to government for making necessary changes in the plan programmes. Current issues related to the development of SC/ST population is given due care and immediate spot study is made by this wing to call the attention of the government for an urgent action. Studies proposed by the Central Government are also conducted. All these have great significance to the  policy makers as it explores the possibility of the given situation in a scientific and systematic manner. An experienced team of Economists , Sociologists, Anthropologists and Statisticians work together in  this wing for a comprehensive analysis of the policies and its implementation pertaining to SC/ST development.

 

  • Undertakes applied and action-oriented research studies pertaining to the development of the scheduled communities in Kerala.
  • Evaluation of development programmes coming  under TSP and other Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs) are conducted. Identification and rectification of policy fatigue, if any, is one of the major focus of such studies.
