Automation

The library is fully automated, employing software developed in-house, and provides an Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) through KOHA. This system ensures efficient management and easy access to the library’s resources.

The library holds a vast collection of 16,450 books spanning a wide array of subjects. These include, but are not limited to:

Additionally, the library offers international and national journals, along with back volumes, and displays research reports and publications generated by the department.

The library has initiated the process of setting up a digital library, with rare books being digitized to preserve and make them accessible to a wider audience.

The library has been expanding its services as a centre for dissemination of knowledge, information and culture. It is increasingly felt that the library should not merely serve as a centre for lending books, but should also grow as a robust organization devoted to promote intellectual pursuits and create community rapport among its readers.

Membership

Library Membership is limited to staff of this Institute.

 

Library Advisory Committee

The Library Advisory Committee functions under the chairmanship of Director of KIRTADS. The members of the committee are Administrative Officer, Finance Officer, Deputy Directors and Librarian.
