The main objective of the Ethnological Museum located in the campus is to preserve the material culture of the tribes of Kerala. The Ethnological Museum exhibits a collection of artefacts highlighting the cultural identity, traditional knowledge, techniques, etc. of the Scheduled Tribes. The museum has a collection of about 2,500 items. The collection includes tools used by the Scheduled Tribes for making fire, wood sticks, hunting , various types of arrows, traps, storage basket, musical instruments, measuring vessels, ornaments, handicrafts etc. Apart from this, models of traditional houses of Cholanaickan, Kadar, Paniyan, Vettakuruman, Kurumbar, Muthuvan tribes have also been built in the museum. The Ethnological Museum of the Department is marked on the tourism map of Kerala.
